Algae

Written by allan on . Posted in Aquarium Tank

I have kept a tank of approximately 400 liters of water with a pair of 2 year old discus who have recently gave birth to young ones. The problem is that I had to remove my algae eaters as they were attacking the young and now the whole tank is turning green. Could I introduce snails? and if so are they harmless to the discus?

There are two things you can do:
1. Transfer the fry to the maternity tank.
2. Control the light.
Reduce the light to stop algae grow. Change 25% water daily. Raise salt content in water.
