I am researching the care of discus fish with the hopes of soon purchasing some discus. I need to know where I can find chlorine test kits (also, hardness tests) so that I can test the water for chlorine to prevent harm to the fish.
Also, I have included a link to a tap water purification system. It is designed to remove chlorine, chloramine, and other harmful aspects of tap water. Is this a system with which you are familiar? Would it be sufficient? Is it an effective, efficient replacement for $300 systems I have found in my research?

You can purchase these in the aquarium shop.
Tap water purification system
You will use overhead filter. It will act as biological filter. It will filter the water and preserve the natural minerals and other trace elements, which are good to the fish.
