Discus and Catfish

Written by allan on . Posted in Tank Mates

I am in the process of setting up a 55 gallon tank for discus. I have heard that plecos are not good with discus. So far i have only put in some cory’s. What type of Algae eating Catfish would be able to go in this tank and get along with my discus?

Reply:
1. Discus fish is actually a very sensitive fish. It is good to have all the discus in a tank.
2. There are many colors and varieties of discus. They all can agree to one another. You have chance to see them grow and pair up (mate). They can breed without other type of fish to disturb.
3. You can adjust the light to control the algae.
