Discus Eggs laying stopped

Written by allan on . Posted in Breeding

I have two discus in a 45 gallon tank. Temperature is 86′ I do partial water change weekly. They are Marlboro discus. When I had just one of them in the tank by herself, she laid eggs on the glass. I then added the other discus. They seem very compatible but nothing is happening. I feed them a variety of food. They eat right out of my hand. They have great color and seem very content. Any suggestions to get the breeding going?

She laid eggs on the glass when she is alone. She is definitely a female. If you introduce a confirmed male, most likely they will spawn. It is only a matter of time.
