How to get the newly hatched fries to get onto parents?

Written by allan on . Posted in Breeding

The fries were already swimming , however the parent fish fishes were rather reluctant to let the fries to get onto their bodies. They would shake the fries off. But they continue to nurse (clean) them though. Also most of the fries were swimming at the surface, is there any problems? Can i change the water during this period?

Reply:
You should lower down the water level to about 6″ to 7″.
This allow the fries to stick on to their parents easier.
If possible change water 1″ at a time frequently.
This will activate the fries to stick around the parents.
