Parents eating their fries

Written by allan on . Posted in Breeding

I have this pair of young discus who have given birth for at least 7 times already. BUT they are always eating up the fries. What is wrong? What can I do to prevent this?

Now the female is a little listless. And I can see the vertical blackstripes very clearly . And her fins are a little clamp. I have already dewormed them.

Reply:

Normally, by nature parent fish will not eat their babies.

Unless:

– Unsecured (Environment Factors)
– Babies are not healthy (Water Quality)
– Emotional (Fight, Disturbed)

Please find out the causes and take necessary actions.
